Trietta Ricia is the Grand Duchess of the city-state of Alkenstar.

The grand duke or duchess is elected by the High Parliament from within the body's rank and serves for life. The grand duchess serves as both a figurehead for the nation, as well as the arbiter of irreconcilable conflicts within the High Parliament. She is responsible for appointing offices of Ironmaster, Lord Armorer, and High Chamberlain, opposing stations established to serve as political checks.

Lower on the social ladder but no less impactful are charismatic rumormongers disguised as humble workers, including the Bullet & Barrel Saloon’s own shotgun-toting barkeep, Foebe Dunsmith.

Ambrost Mugland is one of the most powerful underworld kingpins in Alkenstar—at least to hear him tell it. In truth, he's a mid-level crime lord with an ego far larger than his coffers. In spite of his petty and delusional personality (or perhaps because of it), he's nonetheless a very dangerous man to cross. Mugland believes he's worked hard to get to where he is today, and he's grown used to having everything he feels he deserves: money, power, and infamy. His most strongly held conviction of all though, is that he's totally immune from any negative consequences of his actions.
